Tea Bash: The Reluctant Hostess throws a tea party - we are on the right track

The thing about hosting a party for me is the stress. The stress of thinking up the theme, organizing it, putting it all together and then being calm enough to enjoy it while the party is in full swing. So mostly I don’t. When I have tried at least one of the “its” went wrong so I mostly stopped trying. I liked the idea of a party but not the reality of one. So when designing the first Bash box I made sure we addressed as many of these elements are we could.

  1. Theme – we guide you through which theme to choose on our website and then give you signature elements and information to pull it off.

  2. Organization – we provides checklists and step by step directions.

  3. Timeline – we tell you when to buy the food and when to prep and when to relax and enjoy.

  4. We tell you the “rules” and when and where to break them- because let’s face it – it’s YOUR party!

The first Bash we took on was the Tea Bash. Dina and I both really enjoy tea and I had just come back from a business trip to London where I had a lovely high tea overlooking Princess Diana’s garden. We did some additional research to ensure we covered all the tea basics and found as many made in the US items as we could to fill the box. We included elements so that hostess will feel like she is opening a gift when the Bash Box arrives and so that the guests will get a small parting gift to remember the occasion.

Then we did a test run to ensure we got it all right.

The Tea party was lovely! We had a very quiet relaxing afternoon with good friends and really enjoyed all the elements – from the table setting to the food to the company.

It was supper relaxing for me since I was a guest and Dina hosted but she looked like she was having fun too. We got wonderful feedback on the business idea and one friend actually wanted to buy a Tea Bash as a gift that very day. What an energizer!

I hope you decide to throw a bash to and be sure to let us know how it goes!

P.S. – One of the things I loved about having high tea in London and at the Ritz locally was slathering the scones with cream and jam. What we found out is that most of the scones you buy prepackaged here in the States are super sweet and covered with sugar glaze. We hardly used any of the jam during the tea party. Keep that in mind when you throw your Tea Bash.
