What on earth is a "Zen Bash" and why would I want one?

"No dear husband, it is not a disease or something you do when you're angry." I can still hear his questions in my mind. Similar to the ones you might be asking perhaps.
Dina and I were inspired by our sporadic yoga classes and mindfulness blogs like the Zen Habits and Tiny Buddha. We thought it would be nice to have a small gathering of friends to relax and experience mindfulness together. A party yes but a party where you leave relaxed and refreshed and buoyed by the joy of friendships old and new.
So we created the Zen Bash, where there is relaxing music, aroma therapy, some light yoga of course, fresh small snacks and activities that allow that guests to both reflect inwardly and if desired share outwardly. There is adult coloring to express your inner creativity, there is flying wish paper to let your dreams soar. And through it all there is our great party planning guide to help you prepare and execute an effortless experience for you and your guests.
What makes a party Zen? Really what makes a party Zen is the intention and focus you bring as a hostess. It is the wiliness to share with friends and create a safe space. The other elements help focus this energy and - let's face it - make it fun.
What was my favorite part of the Zen Bash? Aside from the obvious joy of being with friends, I liked the reminders I took home. The reminders that allow me to go back to that party and those thoughts whenever I want to.

My colored post card is sitting on my desk right now to inspire me as I write this.

The relaxing room spray is by my bed to help me get to sleep each night.
Why would you like to have a Zen Bash? I think the first reason might be novelty. Let's face it there isn't much else out there like this. It's a great way to switch up your book club night or girls night out our just have a "lovely" afternoon. The second reason is "it's cool" and fun. In the planning process you make it your own, so it can be a reflection of you and where your thoughts are right now - goofy, spiritual, reflective - no matter where your head and heart are right now it can be expressed in the setup of the Zen Bash.
Do you have questions about the Zen Bash that I didn't answer? Drop me a line and let me know.
Cheers!
