Dina and I were busy planning the next party in a box -- Zen Bash -- My head was all wrapped up in relaxation, organic foods and spa environments. During my research I found an ad for the greenfestivalexpo. It has this calming photo of a women meditating -- I couldn’t pass it up.
I thought it would be fun and provide a much needed opportunity to find Bash-in-a-Box vendors and some cool ideas for the Zen Bash.

So I trundled off with my son and husband and some relatives visiting from out of town to the convention center. Somehow I thought they would convert the vast blank open hall into an oasis of calm and relaxation. Well I was fantasizing to be sure. Don’t get me wrong, we had a good time and as advertised there were people meditating and doing yoga but it was also loud, crowded and just a little bit overwhelming. Oh and I didn’t get any ideas or products for the Zen Bash :(
What I did find were many VERY NICE people
providing tastings of great organic healthy food
selling natural oil and beauty products
providing information on non-profit organizations
selling home improvement products (like solar panels)
There were corporate vendors side by side with entrepreneurs from EDSY and small business incubators. The entrepreneurs offered advice and everyone was encouraging and positive.
The lunch food was all organic and vegan and way too healthy for me but enjoyable none the less. I even had a raw coconut cut open and served with a straw as my drink -- how cool is that?
So if you get the chance I say go to the greenfestivalexpo. They are in several cities east and west coast throughout the year. Eat, get some lotion on your hands and enjoy! Just don’t expect it to be calm and relaxing.
Cheers!
