Giving a huge shout out to the band Pink Martini. Your recommended musical accompaniment for this blog post ;) Click the name to hear their songs on YouTube.

No the title isn’t a typo in the title. It is my latest cool find -- the Reluctant Entertainer blog. At first I was a bit worried because, well, being a reluctant hostess is my thing. But Sandy comes from another angle. She isn't reluctant herself, her blog helps those of us that are.

Her blog has lovely and easy to navigate categories that address such issues as Timing, Perfectionism, Introvert/Extrovert and Conversation. Since she has been blogging for 10 years there are many more categories and topics that she covers and with each post she features a beautifully photographed recipe. Some easy, some not so easy. My favorite post of hers is actually written by her husband "I Don't Entertain Because I Am Shy". It gives some guidance and perspective on overcoming fears about entertaining. I also fell in love with her post about "Why Impromptu Gatherings Work & Baked Brie with Cranberry Relish Appetizer". Not that I am going to have an impromptu gathering, but my husband loves brie and we have a friend coming over to stay with us next weekend. I think this recipe will really be nice to serve the first night. Now, can the Reluctant Entertainer just do something about my over-booked schedule? Thankfully, that is where Bash in a Box comes in. We help you pull a party together with most of the supplies in one box and a guide to take you through the other steps. We also have parties for different size groups from 8 to 20 people, so you can choose what size party you are ready to host. So be sure to check out the Reluctant Entertainer and keep us in mind the next time you decide to throw a party.

Cheers!

P.S. I am quite intrigued by a book Sandy recommends "the Inspired Room". Her photos of how she decorated with Grocery Store Flowers got me thinking I should check it out. I'll be sure to let you know what I think soon.

We don't get paid for this endorsement we just think Sandy is great and that you'll like her recipes and advice.
